Magnesium in the brain is important for synapses, cognitive function, energy production, and plasticity. Yet normal magnesium doesn’t usually cross the blood-brain barrier. Magtein® is a specialized, potent form of magnesium-l-threonate developed by MIT scientists. It’s designed to solve this problem.
The Magtein® inside MagTech™ is built on more than a decade of research from MIT, led by the original inventor Dr. Liu. During the official 2015 placebo-controlled clinical trials, the results showed a meaningful increase of memory-related functions in the brain which represented a 9-year age improvement when subjects supplemented Magtein®[17, 18]*. You can find Magtein® inside each capsule of MagTech™.
GABA Brain Food™ is designed to support the normal, healthy production of GABA, a neurotransmitter essential to mental calmness.
The natural compounds in GABA Brain Food™ may help you reduce temporary feelings of stress, as well as promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.
Why magnesium? This is a cofactor that helps l-tryptophan convert into 5-HTP, then 5-HTP later converts to serotonin.*
Paired with natural amino acids like this, magnesium has the potential to absorb effectively in the body and brain.
Magtein™ is a patented form of magnesium-l-threonate. Developed by researchers at MIT, this unique ingredient is unlike any form of magnesium on the market. Studies find that Magtein™ may support learning and memory.* It also may support attention and cognitive function – making it a game-changer for your brain health.*
Magnesium taurate is the third form of magnesium inside MagTech®. Similar to glycine, taurine is also an amino acid. It plays a role in hundreds of chemical reactions, and in this context, attaches to the magnesium molecule as well. Paired with natural amino acids like this, magnesium has the potential to absorb effectively in the body and brain.
Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid is a naturally occurring neurotransmitter with central nervous system (CNS) inhibitory activity. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), converted from the principal excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate in the brain, plays a role in regulating neuronal excitability by binding to its receptors, GABA-A and GABA-B, and thereby causing ion channel opening, hyperpolarization and eventually inhibition of neurotransmission. GABA acts to slow down signals between neurons, making neurons less electrically excitable.
