    L-Tyrosine a promising cognitive enhancer

Dutch researchers conducting a meta-analysis on L-tyrosine concluded that this amino acid “is a promising cognitive enhancer” [1]

Blood levels of L-Tyrosine may be linked to quality of life

A 2004 study found that “normal tyrosine concentrations, compared to increased tyrosine concentrations, may be associated with fatigue and diminished quality of life.”

Specifically, they reported that Physical Functioning, Role Functioning Physical, Bodily Pain, General Health, Vitality, Social Functioning, Role Emotional Functioning, and Mental Health all increased as tyrosine levels increased. [2]

L-Phenylalanine (and L-Tyrosine) leads to increased alertness and arousal

A peer-reviewed paper published in 2008 concluded that L-Tyrosine and L-Phenylalanine are precursors to the neurotransmitter and that “dietary supplements that contain tyrosine and/or phenylalanine lead to alertness and arousal” [3]

    Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 a rate-limiting substrate for dopamine production

Research shows that “the role of vitamin B6 in amino acid metabolism makes it a rate limiting cofactor in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, and GABA” [4]

Vitamin B6 supports healthy immune function and metabolism

A pair of papers from 2012 and 2013 showed that “Vitamin B6 has a direct effect on immune function and gene transcription/expression and plays a role in brain glucose regulation.” [5,6]

Vitamin B6 may support healthy neural cells

A review of cognitive enhancement and prevention studies concluded that Vitamin B6 plays a crucial role in helping the body maintain normal, healthy cognition through the aging process. [7]

    Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 supports healthy nerves and neural cell function

A 2006 review of the roles of folate and Vitamin B12 and their impact on the nervous system highlighted the importance of adequate B12 levels for healthy neuronal function. [8]

The same 2013 study mentioned above shows that Vitamin B12 is crucial for the maintenance of normal, healthy cognitive function and memory recall through one’s lifespan. [5]

Folate Linked to DNA function and neuronal differentiation

Folate contributes to the normal, healthy functioning of our brains. A 2007 study connected folate to “reactions in brain tissue” including “DNA stability, gene expression/transcription, neuronal differentiation, hippocampal development, and propagation of action potentials”. [9]

    Vitamin C

    Vitamin C is neuroprotective antioxidant

A 2007 study and a 2009 meta-analysis report that Vitamin C is not only a powerful antioxidant, but that it is also a neuroprotective compound. By reducing oxidative stress and helping to remove metabolic waste, Vitamin C keeps brain cells “cleaner” and supports normal cell functioning. [10,11]

Vitamin C prevents oxidation of vitamins, minerals and amino acids

Vitamin C is the primary antioxidant present in our bloodstream and it exerts its beneficial effects on our cells as well as other vitamins, minerals and amino acids, including [12]

TMG improves body composition, muscle size, and endurance

Commonly found in beets, spinach and shellfish, TMG or trimethylglycine is also known as Betaine.

Betaine has been used by many athletes and fitness enthusiasts as a natural ergogenic aid. A 2013 study published data supporting TMG’s ability to increase muscle size, work capacity (endurance) and body composition after 6 weeks of supplementation. [15]

L-Phenylalanine and L-Tyrosine are amino acid precursors to dopamine - both must be present in order for dopamine to be synthesized. L-Phenylalanine is present in many foods (such as meat and dairy), and is converted into L-Tyrosine in the body. In turn, L-Tyrosine is converted into L-Dopa, the direct precursor to dopamine.

Each of these essential vitamins play a key role in the optimal production of dopamine. Vitamin B6 helps convert L-Dopa into dopamine and Vitamin C helps convert dopamine into norepinephrine (increasing alertness and attention). Each of these also have important antioxidant properties that protect cells from damage during the production and metabolism of dopamine.

Methylation is a vitally important process that occurs throughout the body. This process allows metabolic reactions to be carried out effectively and undisturbed.

Folate, Vitamin B12 and trimethylglycine are added to Dopamine Brain Food™ to lend support to the methylation process, and to aid in the generation of S-adenosyl methionine (SAM-E). SAM-E is an amino acid that also plays an important role in the methylation process by helping to convert norepinephrine to epinephrine for use in attention-based activities.

    • Folate - 1 mg
    • Vitamin B12 - 5 mg
    • Trimethylglycine - 750 mg

    Thrilled with the results!

After taking the quiz, I found out I had a low level of dopamine. I ordered the sample size (21 count) and took one capsule in the morning, afternoon and evening. I was able to focus better, think clearly and recall things easier and faster. It was amazing! My concentration even improved at work and at home. I am making less mistakes and able to focus on the task at hand. I would definitely recommend this product!

By providing your body with the raw materials it needs to make dopamine, it is able to naturally optimize your body of high level dexterity.

    What is Dopamine?

Dopamine is a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter) responsible for transmitting signals in the brain that may influence motivation, mood, memory, and more.

    What is Dopamine's Function?

Dopamine's function as a neurotransmitter is to support feelings of motivation, focus, attention, mood, and reward-seeking behavior.

How can I increase my Dopamine levels?

The best way to increase dopamine levels is to consume the necessary precursors and cofactors the body needs to produce dopamine naturally. These include the amino acids Tyrosine, L-Phenylalanine, vitamin B6 and vitamin C among others.

Additionally, engaging in regular physical exercise, sleeping 7-8 hours per night, and engaging in activities that bring you pleasure can also help increase dopamine levels.

    What is a Dopamine agonist?

A dopamine agonist is a compound that activates dopamine-producing receptors in the brain. Dopamine receptors activate signaling pathways that facilitate neurotransmission -- the transfer of chemical signals in the nervous system.

Most commonly, the phrase "dopamine agonist" is reserved for a class of drugs that activates dopamine-producing receptors.

    Are Dopamine Supplements safe?

Natural amino acid, herbal, or botanical-based supplements are largely considered safe provided the product is from a reputable brand.

Use of synthetic dopamine agonist drugs may include some potential side effects including nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, reduced libido, sleep disruptions, or mood shifts.

When should I take Dopamine Brain Food?

You should take 2-3 capsules first thing in the morning, about 15 minutes before eating. If you are at the gym or at your job, take Dopamine Brain Food™  to increase your attention and alertness. Make sure that you do not consume more than 3 capsules per day. Otherwise, most people take it on a daily basis – no side-effects.

What are the symptoms of Low Dopamine?

Some of the most common symptoms of low dopamine are depression, anxiety, attention deficits, fatigue, scattered thoughts, or slow thinking.

Are there any side effects with Dopamine Supplements?

In general, increasing dopamine levels in the brain to abnormal levels with natural supplements is unlikely. If dopamine levels in the brain are excessive, side effects may include anxiety, high energy, high libido, hyperactivity, or agitation.
